Reflections

Roger Camp

Documentary photography, also known as street photography, has a long history that most often focuses on images of people. I am more interested in the little thing, some object or scene that might offer some insight into the place I am photographing, perhaps offering an epiphany. Reflections are a means of abstracting reality. The reflection is always more interesting to me than the unreflected scene.

Roger Camp is the author of three photography books, including the award-winning Butterflies in Flight, Thames & Hudson, 2002. His documentary photography has been awarded the prestigious Leica Medal of Excellence and published in The New England Review, North American Review, and Orion Magazine. He is represented by the Robin Rice Gallery, New York.
